Day one, Saturday, 27 april

10.00 Morning Session: Introductory games, aiming at intercultural communication and team building. Physical exercises, theathre techniques. Example: Participants were divided in groups, with one person of each nationality in the group. Use different toys and waste materials to make something you would take to a deserted island. Participants were not allowed to speak English, only their own language and had to find a way to make themselves understandable to each other.

14.00 Afternoon Session: Workshop on superhero-empowerment. In groups participants thought of a mission for their super hero, a slogan, special skills and weaknesses and a super hero suit. Creative techniques, painting, drawing, group discussions.
17.00 Practical organisation: formation of different teams: shopping team, cooking team, cleaning team, different weblog/publicity teams, confirmation of the projects code of conduct.

Day three, Monday 29 april

10.00 Morning session: Discussion about stereotypes and experiences of stigmatization in the countries and neighbourhoods of residence of the participants. Use of theatre techniques to express emotions such as anger, happiness, fear, mourning, frustration 12.00 lunch
13.00 Afternoon session: Street art tour in Kreuzberg and surroundings. Historical narratives, back ground information on art and social relations within the city. Training of observation of your daily surroundings.

Day four, Tuesday 30 april
09.00 breakfast
10.00 Morning session: Discussion about civic engagement and political participation. Each participant creates a short statement on this topic. Technique: Mind mapping and group discussion.

13.00 Afternoon session: Discussion of problems to be solved and issues to be addressed in the activity that participants will organize at home after the exchange. Inventarisation of issues, audience to be reached, place of the acitivity. Techniques: Group discussion, mind mapping

Day five, Wednesday 1 May

No workshops. Experience various forms of celebrations of the first of May, Labor Day. Free time in the city.

Day six, Thursday 2 May
09.00 breakfast
10.00 Visit of sites of social interest in the city. Explanation of subcultures in Berlin, squatting as a lifestyle and a political strategy. Visit to the protest camp of undocumented refugees and discussion of migrant issues and stigmatization of migrants and refugees in Europe. Discussion of gentrification as a theme of urban development in Berlin. In relation to gentrification walk along the Spree river to see different sites of urban renewal.

Day seven, Friday 3 May
09.00 breakfast
10.00 Workshop public speech. Participants talk before the group about their activities back home, the things they wish to change in their neighbourhood and their personal motivation to work on these issues. The group and the workshopleader give feedback on the speech. Workshopleader discusses tips and tricks regarding speaking in public.
13.00 lunch
14.00 Start workshop campaigning. How to set up a successful campaign? Workshopleaders give an example of a succesfull campaign against ethnic profiling in France. They discuss the steps to take in the process according to the methodology of “community organizing”. This method is focused on tools to gain power over their own circumstances for people who do not have a say within institutional settings. Discussed was how to cut an attainable issue to work on, how to mobilize supporters, how to find community leaders who can carry the campaign, how to influence politicians, how to make publicity and reach the press and how to set long term goals.

20.00 dinner in hostel together with the inhabitants of the community living in the same building. Exchange of stories about our project and the projects of the inhabitants. Movie screening of two movies of our participant Youness Belghazi about the Arab Spring protests and freedom of expression in Morocco.

Day eight, Saturday 4 May

10.00 Continuation Workshop Campaigning: How do you get from concept to action? Based on the information of yesterday participants use the method of community organizing to make a detailed plan for their own envisioned activity back home. They make a power analysis, cut an issue, think of leaders and ways to reach the press.
13.00 lunch
14.00 continuation of the Campaigning workshop: Participants work in one-on-ones and discuss their plans with each other and give each other tips.
17.00 – 19.00 free time
19.00 dinner in hostal or in town Evening: Cultural activity in the city

Day nine, Sunday 5 May
10.00 breakfast
11.00 Workshop street art and creative writing with Loesje International. Afterwards walk through multicultural neighbourhood Kreuzberg and a soccer game in the park.
18.00 free evening. Participants are free to have dinner in town or at the hostel.

Day ten, Monday 6 May
09.00 breakfast
10.00 Workshop Theatre of the Oppressed. How to use theatre techniques in order to become more aware of your own competences, reach out to others in your neighbourhood and address sensitive social issues.

Day eleven, Tuesday 7 May

10.00 Workshop Blogging, social media. Workshopleader was active during the occupation of Tahrir Square in Egypt and shares his experience with the use of bliogging and social media during the popular uprising in Egypt.

14.00 Workshop Internet security. Workshopleader was active in the Occupy movement and shares his experiences with the use of internet as a tool for offline activism.

Day twelve,Wednesday 8 May

10.00 Participants have the whole day to further work on the plans they have for the activity they wish to develop at home. They also discuss options to support each other at a distance. Also a joint media strategy is developed to share attention for the projects of transformation across the different cities. Day thirteen, Thursday 9 May

09.00 Concluding discussion in which the participants share their reflections on the exchange and talk about how their personal perspective on civic engagement and political participation has evolved.
